John Burrello, CFA, CAIA
Co-Head of Global StrategiesJohn Burrello is Co-Head and Senior Portfolio Manager for the Invesco Global Strategies team, which develops and manages derivatives-based investment strategies. In this role, he focuseson outcome-oriented equity and multi-asset portfolios, including options-based, commodities,and global macro strategies. Mr. Burrello joined Invesco in 2012 as a senior derivatives trader, focusing on options-based strategies and capital markets solutions. In 2016, he transitioned to the Global Strategies team as a portfolio manager. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at Continental Advisors, a Chicago-based hedge fund, where he focused on equity research, derivative-based risk management, and portfolio construction. His work on options-based investment strategies has been published in the Journal of Asset Management and featured in Derivatives Applications in Asset Management: From Theory to Practice (Fabozzi & de Jong, 2025). He is also a frequent contributor to leading financial media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg, the Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Burrello began his investment management career at UBS O’Connor in 1999.Mr. Burrello earned a BA degree from Indiana University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst®(CFA) charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Atlanta. He is also a CharteredAlternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA) charterholder and was a founding chapter executive forCAIA Atlanta.
